Admission Requirements
Prior to full admission to Methodist College of Nursing, the following requirements must be completed and submitted to Student Services:
Background Check forms:
- DCFS (Department of Children & Family Services)
- Criminal Conviction
Health Forms:
- Health History
- Latex Allergy Screen
- Physical Examination results
- Immunization Records for
Mumps, measles and rubella
Tetanus and Diphtheria
Hepatits B
- Urine Drug Screen (5 panel)
- Two-step Tuberculin Skin Test administered within 3 months of beginning of classes
Malpractice Insurance
All students must provide proof of malpractice insurance ($1,000,000.00) which may be purchased from NSO, Nurses Service Organization, or students may check with their personal insurance company.
CPR/AED - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator
All students will participate in CPR/AED training during orientation.
Official Transcripts
Official Transcripts verifying successful completion of all required general education courses must be provided prior to orientation.

Computer Requirements
Each student entering Methodist College of Nursing is required to own a computer. The reasons behind the policy are many, but just like textbooks, attendance in class, and appropriate study time, a computer has been deemed to be critical to a student's success.
