About Us

The demand for qualified nurses has never been higher and nursing career opportunities are greater and more varied than ever before. As the health care field becomes increasingly complex and specialized, more and more nurses are finding steady, rewarding careers.

Methodist College of Nursing (MCON) is dedicated to providing the best nursing education. We provide excellence in quality programming and clinical practice. Pursuing both HLC Regional and NLNAC accreditation has afforded the opportunity to improve our programs to meet national standards of quality in nursing education.

We are a 2+2 institution offering two degrees, the BSN and RN-BSN.  Located in the heart of the Med District in Peoria, IL, MCON offers nursing students the best nursing education and learning experience in the area.

  • Are you a RN wanting to pursue your BSN?

Fall of 2008 marks the start of our online RN-BSN program.  Enjoy the flexibility and quality of anytime, anywhere learning.

Methodist College of Nursing (MCON) is a single purpose college offering the baccalaureate nursing program (BSN). There are two tracks in this program:

  • BSN Program - 4 semesters of fulltime, classroom and clincial study
  • RN to BSN program, mostly online with some synchronous sessions - 2 years of study

MCON's baccalaureate nursing program is termed a 2 + 2 program. The first two years (general education credits) are completed at another institution and transferred to MCON. The last two years are completed at MCON.

The RN-BSN program requires that the student has passed the NCLEX exam and has earned the required general education credits. For more information, see the Academics section of this website.
