Tuition Reimbursement

Active full-time and active part-time benefited employees who have completed the initial orientation period are eligible for the tuition reimbursement benefit.

Eligible Reimbursement:

  • The course of study which leads to improvement in knowledge and/or skill in the employee's present job, advancement to a higher skill level, or preparation for a position in the organization which the individual can reasonably expect to achieve.
  • Course work must be offered by an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency exam and GED testing fees.
  • Certification exams if such certification is identified in the employee's current job description as a requirement or strongly recommended for the position.
  • Correspondence courses based upon the review and recommendation of the Director of Organizational Development.

Benefit Amount:

Reimburse tuition cost for grade C or better

Maximum Tuition Reimbursement = $4,000 per calendar year (January 1 through December 31).

  • Full time- 100% of tuition up to $4,000/year.
  • Part time- 50% of tuition up to $4,000/year.

Books and fees are not reimbursed.

Work Commitment:

One year (12 months) following the date final grades and proof of payment is turned in.

 

Doctoral Study Reimbursement

Provides full time faculty an opportunity to apply for a grant that provides an annual reimbursement for doctoral study in nursing or a related field.  This benefit may cover expenses not covered through tuition reimbursement.

 

Tuition Waiver

Provides full time employees' eligible dependents (spouse and/or children) tuition waiver to attend Methodist College of Nursing or another accreditated undergraduate institution.  If attendance at another institution the tuition waiver will pay tuition only up to the equivalent amount of MCON's tuition at the time of the request.  Payments for tuition will be made directly to the college or university.

  • MCON Administration/Faculty Members’ spouse and/or dependent children – 100% tuition waiver
  • MCON Staff Members’ spouse and/or dependent children – 50% tuition waiver

*Tuition Waiver covers tuition only.
